Case summary
MRPL is an Indian multinational company that caters to almost 30% of India’s crude oil demand. It is a subsidiary of ONGC and was set up in the year 1988. The refinery has a unique capability of processing crudes from various APIs and with a high degree of automation.
MRPL was manually processing a large number of invoices generated during the dispatch of products across its supply chain and required multiple authorities to manually sign every invoice thus generated. Each party in this supply chain had to maintain a physical copy of every invoice processed. This became a time-consuming activity. Moreover, retrieval of physical documents for a company working on such a large scale became an uphill task. The company was frantically looking for a solution that can automate the process by setting up digitally signed documents on operational purchasing, accounts payable, and invoices within their existing ERP system while ensuring data integrity, signer authenticity, and regulatory compliance.
